The story told about how a father helped his son to cure his illness through music. The son, Gabriel, suffered from a brain tumor, and after tumor removed, he was found that he was unable to form new memory by himself. And his father later realized that music could help him memorize. The main point of the story is hope. Through the music, Gabriel was able to identify what was important to remember. Music has a power to affect memory, for example, Mozart’s music with 60 beats per minute beat pattern activate people’s left and right brain, and therefore maximizes learning of information. Activities such like singing can engage both sides of brain and cause the brain to be more able to process information.

In the movie of “The music never stopped”, it talks about a story of a father, a son and their hope. In the story, Gabriel (the son) has suffered a brain tumor which caused his brain severely damaged. Even worse, Gabriel found out that he could not form the new memories by himself after the surgery to remove the tumor. However, there is still a hope around him. His father found out that the music has influence on Gabriel because the music can help him in forming the memories and Gabriel’s father worked really hard to help Gabriel as well as helped himself to reconnect to each other by believing in that hope exists in music. The science shows that when people are listening to the music, the music goes separately to the left side brain and the right side brain, which has the influence on stimulate the memory. When the sound bits, the stimulation through both side of the brain and enhance the ability of processing the new information and storing memories.

‘The Music Never Stopped’ is s story of a couple reunited with their son after 20 years, only to find out he has a large brain tumor in his temporal lobe. After the tumor is surgically removed, the son , Daniel, suffers from anterograde amnesia – this means he cannot make new memories. Daniel’s father discovers musical therapy and hires local musical therapist Dianne Daley. While starting out with inconsistent cognitive functioning and having flat affect, Daniel recovers to more normal responsiveness through the therapy of Daley and his favorite records. A study done by Boston University shows that patients with dementia have significant improvement with memory when music is used as an aid. While Daniel suffered from a different ailment, the hippocampus is what was most hurt by the tumor, and is also the first thing to be destroyed by Alzheimer’s. But rhythm has been show to help create new memories, and music as a whole can invoke emotions that help regain memories.

The Music Never Stopped is a tale about a Dad who learns that his run-away son, Gabriel, is now suffering from a brain tumor that is causing severe impairment to his brain. After the tumor removal, doctors find that he suffers from anterograde amnesia. While Gabriel cannot form new memories on his own, he can with the help of music. As Gabriel's father attempts to reconnect with him, he finds that he must confront the very issues that resulted in their original parting. I agree with the written review, in that the main point of the story is hope. Music represents hope, as it has a power to influence memory. As learned in class, when listeners listen to music, the sound goes individually to each side of the brain, thus influencing memory stimulation. The stimulation through the left and right side of the brain enhances the ability to process string memories and new information.
